The HepMC3 event record library for Monte Carlo event generators

چکیده
In high-energy physics, Monte Carlo event generators (MCEGs) are used to simulate the interactions of high energy particles. MCEG records store information on simulated particles and their relationships, thus reflect evolution physics phenomena in each collision event. We present HepMC3 library, a next-generation framework for record encoding manipulation, which builds functionality its widely-used predecessors enable more sophisticated algorithms event-record analysis. As compared previous versions, structure has been simplified, while adding possibility encode arbitrary information. The I/O extended support common input output formats various HEP MCEGs, including Fortran established by HepMC2 binary such as ROOT; custom or handlers may also be used. is already supported popular modern MCEGs can replace older HepMC versions many others. QCD and Monte Carlo event generators
Shower Monte Carlo event generators have played an important role in particle physics. Modern experiments would hardly be possible without them. In this talk I discuss how QCD physics is incorporated into the mathematical structure of these programs and I outline recent developments including matching between events with different numbers of hard jets and the inclusion of nextto-leading order e...
متن کاملStatus of Monte-Carlo event generators
Particle physics phenomenology has entered a new era with the recent discovery of an elementary boson at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In the following years, it will be important to measure the precise properties of the new particle in order to determine whether it is related to the Higgs boson predicted by the Standard Model. Meanwhile, searches for signals of new physics will continu...

The choice of a factorization scheme suitable for Monte Carlo simulations of NLO initial state parton showers is discussed in this contribution.
متن کاملTop Quark Mass Calibration for Monte Carlo Event Generators.
The most precise top quark mass measurements use kinematic reconstruction methods, determining the top mass parameter of a Monte Carlo event generator m_{t}^{MC}. Because of hadronization and parton-shower dynamics, relating m_{t}^{MC} to a field theory mass is difficult. We present a calibration procedure to determine this relation using hadron level QCD predictions for observables with kinema...
متن کاملSequential Monte Carlo for rare event estimation
This paper discusses a novel strategy for simulating rare events and an associated Monte Carlo estimation of tail probabilities. Our method uses a system of interacting particles and exploits a FeynmanKac representation of that system to analyze their fluctuations. Our precise analysis of the variance of a standard multilevel splitting algorithm reveals an opportunity for improvement. This lead...
